Mean Cat FishI spent a little time rummaging around the net today and I came across this on the I Am Bored website. Looks like they had a Photoshopped Animals contest at some point.  A laughed my a** off when I saw this one.

Reminds me of our cat at feeding time… :-)  Cudo’s to the entrants of that contest; there’s some great stuff out there.

The latest development updates on Ron 3.0

Posted by Ron on February 7, 2007

So, its been a few weeks (a month?) since I last talked about the Ron 3.0 project.  There hasn’t been a whole lot to talk about yet.  I’ve been pondering thoughts of greatness, well at least pondering thoughts, looking at the finances, talking with the wife, and trying to weigh all of the options.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with the VP of our IT department about a position that has been open for a little while.  I’ll talk to him and see how things pan out.  If it works out, great.  If not, I’m really not too concerned. Even after a month or so of thinking about it, I’m still OK about leaving if I don’t find anything else in the company.  I’ve gotten past it.  It’s not the same company that it was when there were just 30 - 40 of us when I first started back in ‘93.  Now that there’s nearly 4,000 worldwide it’s a very different place.  A lot of that original energy and spirit is gone.

Also, there are so many other personal projects my wife and I would like to work on, I can definitely keep myself busy for quite awhile.  I can also see about putting some time in at the gym.  But, we’ll see how things go.  I’m keeping an open mind.

It’s funny.  The biggest thing I’m going to miss if I do decide to leave is my vacation time.  Being with the company for nearly 14 years I get 30 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year.  (We combine vacation and sick time into one bucket of PTO).  That’s what I’m really going to miss.  I’ve gotten used to being able to do a lot of things through out the year.  Going to a new place that only offers 10 days or what ever I can negotiate will be rather disappointing.’

Anyway, it’s late.  I’ll have another update tomorrow after the “big meeting.” :-)
