A Nearly Dull Day On Jury Duty
Posted by Ron on February 6, 2007
So, I had Jury Duty on Monday. I don’t mind getting called. Which is a good thing as I have probably been selected to sit on 7 or 8 jury’s over the years (I’ve lost track).
Overall, it was pretty quiet and dull day. I was called up to one of the courtrooms along with 29 others and we started going through the question and answer process.
We broke for lunch and I wandered outside around the courthouse. As I was heading to the parking garage to drop a few things in the car, I noticed an ambulance sitting at the entrance with its lights going. I didn’t see anyone around the ambulance. I figured maybe they were working on someone inside.
So, I head up to the floor the car is parked on. As I turn the corner, I hear what sounds like a conversation on a walkie talkie. Turns out that someone passed out about two spots from where I parked. Looked like someone in their late 60’s (?). I hope they’re OK.
Beyond that, not much else happened. I didn’t get picked. But, the whole process kept everyone there until just after 6:00. Not too bad. I missed a lot of the traffic.
